ADVOCACY AND
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

This year has been one of exceptional battles and hurdles, as well as huge successes for Easterseals Midwest’s advocacy efforts.Through the collaboration of efforts of our constituents, stakeholders, and advocacy team, we were able to expand our network of advocates, operationalize our mission of contributing to a more inclusive world, and shaping public policy for individuals with disabilities in our targeted areas.

Throughout FY21, Easterseals Midwest collaborated with multiple Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities community-based providers, and with our Trade Association, MARF, to produce educational and outreach presentations to members of the Missouri Congressional Delegation, the Missouri General Assembly, and to the general public.

Through Zoom presentations, we offered these courses to the entirety of Missouri. These presentations included subject matters from relevant and timely disability issues to potential candidate briefings to expert speaker presentations. Thanks to these presentations, we were able to maximize our outreach and grow our advocacy network to 1,873 total advocates.
